The Project
How Do Immigrants and the United States Interact?
America is a country built by immigrants. Each family that has come over here has had to deal with the question of how much, if any, of their native culture they should hold onto as they come in contact with the dominant American culture. You will be setting up a blog that will look at different aspects of this issue. You must include a persuasive article requiring research. You may include an article discussing the concept of immigration in the literature we’ve read this year, personal narratives, an interview with an immigrant, a poem/song with analysis, and/or a picture with an original story dealing with the theme of immigration. Ultimately, your blog will be a meditation on the issues faced by every immigrant and thus every American family when they started their American journey. Hopefully, it will explain our changing American identity.
